This is a considerable change to anyone that has been practicing the 3,000-mile oil change interval that is preached like gospel by the Big Oil companies. In addition, as the longer 25,000-mile/12-month oil change requires that the full flow oil filter be changed at 12,500-miles/6-months (whichever comes first), many people that are not "do-it-yourselfers" are not inclined to take their vehicle to their local service center just to have a filter swapped out.
