AMSOIL 10W-40 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil (MCF) is also an exceptional product for any two-cycle motorcycle transmission requiring a 10W-40 lubricant.
AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oils not only provide superior protection for motorcycle engines, they also provide superior gear protection, meeting API GL-1 and SAE 80W/90 (MCF) and SAE 90 (MCV) gear lube requirements.
Viscosity is the most important characteristic of a lubricant. Motorcycle gears create a shearing effect that causes permanent oil viscosity loss. This thinning effect reduces the oil's ability to prevent metal-to-metal contact and wear. AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oils exhibits absolute shear stability as measured by the industry recognized Kurt Orbahn shear stability test (ASTM D-6278). They provide superior protection compared to competitive oils and eliminate the need for separate gearbox or chaincase oils.
The high temperatures and tight tolerances common to motorcycle applications also affect viscosity. The High Temperature/High Shear (HTHS) Test (STM D-4683) measures a lubricant's viscosity under severe high temperature and shear conditions. The more resistant an oil is to high temperature viscosity loss, the better it protects, and even a HTHS difference of 0.1 cP makes a significant difference.
AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oils exhibit the highest HTHS viscosities of competing synthetic and conventional motorcycle oils. They provide the best high temperature viscosity protection, giving motorcycle owners peace-of-mind during extensive idle times or when riding in hot weather conditions.
AMSOIL has developed a full line of oil filters specifically designed for motorcycles and ATVs. The SuperDuty Motorcycle Oil Filters (Product Code SMF) reflect the newest technological advances in the quest to meet the unique demands of today's high-stress motorcycle engines.

fluted-rib spiral centertube resists collapse and helps prevent the circulation of unfiltered oil
High strength heat-resistant gasket prevents leaks and insures long gasket life
Double-rolled, tuck lock seam between the heavy-duty baseplate and the filter housing protects unit against leakage during low, normal and high pressure operations
Heavy-duty steel housing protects against burst and pulse damage
Steel coil spring helps insure assembly integrity to help prevent unfiltered oil circulation
AMSOIL SuperDuty Motorcycle Oil Filters provide the greatest possible balance of flow volume, capacity to hold contaminants, and efficiency in removing contaminants. Available in black finish, with several models also available in chrome.
AMSOIL has brought Nanofiber technology to the motorcycle market. AMSOIL Ea Motorcycle Air Filters hold 15 times more dust than a wet gauze type filter. Their nanofiber media removes 5 times more dust than traditional cellulose filters and 50 times more dust than wet gauze. Because the nanofibers in AMSOIL Ea Motorcycle Air Filter media are so small, there are more pores per square inch, allowing for higher dirt-holding capacity and lower pressure drop compared to traditional filter medias. Thinner media fibers produce more uniform pore size distribution, improving the filter’s overall ability to capture and retain particles.
We receive a lot of question about what products to use in various motorcycle applications where a common lubricant is used in the engine crankcase and transmission. Also, different motorcycles require different lubes in separate transmissions and chaincases. Check your maintenance manual to make sure you are looking at the right type of lubricant, but, be assured, AMSOIL has the best product for every application. As an example, for the 883cc and 1200cc Harley Davidson Sportster, the AMSOIL Synthetic 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil is recommended for both the engine and transmission. On 1340cc and 1450cc models, the AMSOIL Synthetic 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil can be used in all three cavities (engine crankcase, transmission and chain case) under most riding conditions, but if you are a particularly hard rider, it is recommended you use AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR Synthetic 75W-90 Gear Lube for the transmission and the AMSOIL Synthetic 10W-40 Motorcycle Oil for the chaincase.
Formulated for maximum stability and performance in high-performance applications, AMSOIL Shock Therapy Suspension Fluid effectively controls friction and heat and significantly reduces wear and scuffing. Viscosity remains constant and foam and aeration are kept to a minimum, limiting shock fade and inconsistent dampening. AMSOIL Synthetic Shock Fluid offers superior performance in temperature extremes.
AMSOIL has two grades of Shock Therapy Synthetic Shock Fluid. Product STL (lightweight viscosity grade) is recommend for applications that demand quick rebounds under extreme temperatures. Product STM (medium viscosity grade) is recommended for applications that require more dampening and slower rebounds.
AMSOIL medium viscosity grade Shock Therapy Oil (STM) is recommended for Harley-Davidson shock absorbers. It is a replacement fluid for Harley-Davidson Type B and Type E fork oils.
Today's high-stress, high-revving two-cycle engines demand superior lubrication for optimal performance. Two-cycle engines in motorcycles are frequently pushed to severe operating conditions and abuse which results in high engine temperatures and dirty operating conditions.
AMSOIL Synthetic 2-Cycle Oils provide maximum protection and performance in two-cycle gasoline engines. AMSOIL Synthetic 2-Cycle Oils reduce engine operating temperatures, increase power output and keep engines cleaner than petroleum oils. AMSOIL Synthetic 2-Cycle Oils also provide maximum oxidation protection, anti-corrosive characteristics and improved operation in low temperatures.AMSOIL synthetic 2-Cycle Oils contain special rust and corrosion inhibitors which provide two-cycle engines with excellent protection, especially during off season storage.
Reduces Heat, Friction and Wear . . .
Because two-cycle motors burn oil, it is important the oil burn clean to prevent carbon build-up. Carbon build-up in the ring areas causes ring sticking, and on the spark plug causes plug fouling. AMSOIL DOMINATOR 2-Cycle Racing Oil is specially formulated to burn clean, ensuring optimal engine performance. AMSOIL's synthetic base oils are combined with specialized detergents to keep two-cycle components clean.
AMSOIL DOMINATOR Synthetic 2-Cycle Racing Oil provides the ultimate protection for the hardest working, hottest running two-cycle engines. When two-cycle engines run hot, pistons expand and the piston to cylinder wall clearance is reduced. This increases friction and the likelihood of piston scuffing, reduced power and ultimately engine seizure. AMSOIL DOMINATOR 2-Cycle Oil reduces friction and prevents thermal runaway. AMSOIL DOMINATOR 2-Cycle Oil virtually eliminates piston scuffing and ensures peak performance in two-cycle engines.
