    The Perfect Business

    AMSOIL DealersThe Highlander, although in an article that dates back to Nov./Dec. of 1999, interestingly talks about the 12 building blocks of the perfect business: "The perfect business does not exist and probably never will. But it’s helpful knowing what we are looking for and dealing with." (The italicized wording relates to the AMSOIL way of doing business)

    1. "The perfect Business sells to the world, rather than to a single neighborhood or even to a single city of state." Your AMSOIL Dealership has no limiting bounds within the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and New Zealand.

    2. "The perfect business offers a product with a ‘inelastic’ demand. Inelastic refers to a product that people need or desire – almost regardless of the price." Lubrication needs extend from the Family Fleet to nearly all of Industry, with synthetics only now making significant inroads.

    3. "The perfect business sells a product that cannot be easily substituted or copied. This means that the product is an original." AMSOIL was the original synthetic for automotive use, and there is still no comparable synthetic available.

    4. "The perfect business has minimal labor requirements (the fewer personnel, the better)." Your labor is you, and your dealership down line works for themselves, but to your benefit.

    5. "The perfect business enjoys low overhead. It does not need an expensive location." Most AMSOIL Dealerships are home based, and operated on a part time basis.

    6. "The perfect business does not re-quire big cash outlays or major investments in equipment. In other words, it does not tie up your capital." AMSOIL requires no inventory, no expensive location or fees, and up front investment in your Dealership is as little as $10.00.

Credit extended to Commercial and Retail accounts are backed by AMSOIL, not you. And catalog sales by credit card are processed by AMSOIL, and the fee for the credit card transaction is paid by AMSOIL.

    8. "The perfect business is portable or movable. This means you can take your business (and your-self) anywhere you want." Move to another City or State, and your Dealership need not miss a beat. Keep your old business and create new wherever you roam.

    9. "The perfect busness is relatively free of all kinds of government and industry regulations and strictures." You sell the most advanced oils and AMSOIL handles the work of staying years ahead of the competition.

    10. "The perfect business satisfies your intellectual (and often emotional) needs. There is nothing like being fascinated with what you are doing. When this happens, you are not working, you are having fun." The AMSOIL Dealership is perfect for the "car nut" or anyone interested in any racing, performance or other hobby or business where lubricants are critical to your interest.

    11. "The perfect business leaves you with free time. In other words, it doesn’t require your labor and attention 12-18 hours a day." Once your AMSOIL business starts becoming established it keeps growing through the efforts of your sponsored Dealers and Accounts.

    12. "The perfect business, super important, is one in which your income is not limited by your personal output." The established Dealers and Accounts keep generating sales as well as new business through their efforts to build their business.

    My question is, doesn’t the AMSOIL business fit a bunch of these categories? Probably as good as any other that I know of.
