AMSOIL has had one of the top 100% Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel and Marine Motor Oils in its SAE 15W-40 Motor Oil for years. With a recommended oil change interval of two to three times longer than those recommended by engine manufacturers, and a Pour Point of -49 deg. F., many have been thrilled with its performance. In addition, it possesses special rust and corrosion inhibitors with superior lubricity and performance capabilities. It is recommended for engines used in marine applications, as well as diesel engines used in trucks, fleets, mining, earth moving, construction and farm equipment. Other applications include taxi and local delivery fleets with gasoline or diesel engines. AMSOIL has also successfully marketed their "straight grade" SAE 30 Synthetic Diesel Oil which satisfies those applications and individual preferences for a non-multi viscosity heavy duty oil.
But now AMSOIL has introduced an even more amazing oil in its new Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil. Heavy duty diesel engine manufacturers are now designing engines for a lower viscosity oil to take advantage of fuel efficiency demands from fleet owners and the need to supply a higher volume of oil to tighter tolerances in newer engines. Engine manufacturers are designing engines for longer drain intervals and are demanding far superior grade lubrication products to carry the heat.
AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil is a premium quality all fleet lubricant, specifically designed for use in commercial, industrial and fleet applications requiring diesel specifications CG-4, CF-2 and CF, while exceeding all API SH gasoline engine lubrication requirements. It may be used in any four-cycle engine from heavy-duty diesels to passenger cars to small gasoline powered equipment. Oil inventory reduction saves fleets the expense of stocking different oils and the worry of misapplication. Oil drain intervals may be extended up to three or more times the oil drain interval length recommended by the engine manufacturer if extended drain intervals are supported by the findings of a used oil analysis program, or up to twelve months whichever comes first.
Low viscosity oils such as Series 3000 deliver better fuel economy than high viscosity oils do. Low viscosity oils also deliver better cold temperature protection. Series 3000 remains fluid at temperatures as low as -51 deg. F. It allows easier cold temperature starting and superior cold temperature oil circulation and engine protection.
Like its predecessors, Series 2000 synthetic motor oils, Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil features a Four-Ball Wear Test Chart on its label. As tested and reported by an independent testing facility, Series 3000 turned in greater protection -- 82% greater -- in the test than did a group of popular 15W-40 diesel oils.
Series 3000 resists oil breakdown from heat, blowby chemicals and oxygen up to ten times longer than conventional oils, allowing it to resist forming sludge and varnish deposits, which contribute to increased engine wear. And its superior heat transfer properties and exceptional lubricity reduce engine operating temperature and engine wear.
Series 3000 is formulated for long drain use in diesel and gasoline engines. Its unique synthetic basestock, long-life detergent/dispersant capabilities (12 TBN) and long-drain additive package ensure maximum engine protection, cleanliness and performance over extended drain intervals. Series 3000's extremely low volatility (7.8% NOACK) demonstrates the oil's ability to withstand high temperature operation without losing its viscosity characteristics. Without the significant thickening due to volatility losses that conventional oils suffer in high temperature operations, Series 3000 continues to circulate freely and protect the entire engine, even over extended drain intervals.
