Algae-X Units Tested
Independent Testing Demonstrates Improved Fuel Consumption, and Lower Exhaust, Particulate Matter Emissions
The technology that the Algae-X units utilize in ridding diesel fuel of microbial contamination has been around for some time. Algae-X Magnetic Fuel Conditioning Units reverse the process of fuel breakdown, restores fuel filterability, enhances combustibility, and prevents clogged filters and tank sludge. Cleaning the fuel and eliminating the growth, or algae, as it is sometimes referred to, will allow fuel filters to last longer, extend the life of fuel injectors, improve power and reduce exhaust smoke. This can be easily demonstrated with do-it-yourself testing using the Liqui-Cult Fuel Test Kits, and many who have experienced the problems caused by bad fuel and tried an Algae-X unit, especially in marine applications, will testify that it has solved their problems.
But other benefits of the Algae-X units have been harder to demonstrate.
Users say that long after the obvious problems of bad fuel have been cured, additional benefits of better fuel mileage and cleaner operation have been noted. This is a difficult area to quantify as vehicles or marine craft operate in varying conditions, and other considerations, such as the source of the fuel, cetane rating of the fuel, or operating conditions may be effecting what is being noted about engine performance.
Now the proof is in.
Emission Testing Service, Inc., an independent testing laboratory (recognized by the California Air Resources Board, US Environmental Protection Agency, ECE, TUV and several European emissions control agencies) that provides facilities, personnel and equipment for engine development, emission testing, engine mapping, endurance and performance testing of internal combustion engines, performed testing in January, 2002, to measure and compare exhaust emissions, fuel consumption and particulate matter on a diesel engine before and after installation of the Algae-X model 500 Fuel Conditioning Device based on parameters of the EPA 13-Mode Steady-State Tests.
The result? Emission Testing Service, Inc., certified that Algae-X Fuel Conditioning dramatically improves the combustibiity of diesel fuel and significantly lowers fuel consumption.
